About BritCertify

BritCertify provides property safety certificates and compliance inspections across Greater London, carried out by qualified, registered engineers and assessors.

Who is BritCertify?

BritCertify is the trading name of Brit Certify Ltd, a private limited company registered with Companies House under number 15726592 and incorporated on 17 May 2024. We provide property safety certificates, inspections and compliance assessments for landlords, letting agents, block managers, freeholders, homeowners and businesses across Greater London inside the M25.

Our engineers have been certifying London properties since 2018. All of our work happens at the property itself: our registered office at 26 Marshalls Road, Romford, RM7 7ED is used for administration only, and customers never need to visit it.

Who carries out our inspections?

Every certificate and report is produced by someone qualified and registered for that type of work. These are the credentials we hold and can evidence:

  • Gas work is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers (Gas Safe reg. 962998). Always ask to see the engineer’s Gas Safe ID card.
  • Electrical inspections are carried out by NICEIC / NAPIT registered electricians, qualified to BS 7671.
  • EPCs are produced by accredited Domestic/Non-Domestic Energy Assessors (Elmhurst / Stroma accreditation schemes).
  • Fire risk assessments are carried out by NEBOSH-qualified fire risk assessors.
  • Asbestos surveys are carried out by P402-qualified asbestos surveyors.

We also hold £5 million public liability insurance. You can check any gas engineer’s registration yourself on the Gas Safe Register.

Which standards do we work to?

Each service follows the legislation and code of practice that applies to it, so the report you receive is one a council, managing agent, buyer or insurer will recognise.

How do we check reports before they are issued?

A certificate is only useful if it is accurate and complete, so every report is checked before it is sent to you. We check that:

  • the property address, client details and inspection date are correct;
  • each observation has a clear description, a location and a code or recommendation;
  • the overall outcome matches the findings, for example an EICR with any C1, C2 or FI code is recorded as unsatisfactory;
  • any limitations, such as rooms, circuits or appliances that could not be accessed, are written down;
  • any remedial work is described clearly enough for you to act on it or get quotes.

If anything on a report is unclear, ask us and the engineer who carried out the inspection will explain it.

How do we write and check our guides?

Our guides and service pages are written or reviewed by members of our qualified team. Legal points are checked against the legislation and official guidance they rely on, published on legislation.gov.uk, GOV.UK and by the HSE, and we link to those sources so you can read the original wording.

Law and standards change, so we review our guides periodically and whenever a significant change is announced, such as the EPC band C target for rented homes or the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 property register. Each guide shows when it was last updated.

If you spot an error or something out of date, email info@britcertify.co.uk. We will check it against the source and correct the page where needed. Our guides are general information for England and are not legal advice; for licensing questions, always check your borough’s licence conditions.

Where do we work?

We cover all of Greater London inside the M25: all 32 London boroughs and the City of London. See the areas we cover, browse our services or contact us with a question.
